Illustration Friday: Lost

Phoebe couldn't see for the fog so she climbed to the top of a hill to see if she could get her bearings. She had lost all sense of direction and was completely lost. No matter which way she looked, everything looked the same. In fact, everything looked like... socks? In her lostdom, she had actually stumbled across the lost land of odd lost socks (as in the place where all your lost socks disappear to, never to be found again...). She couldn't believe her eyes and she couldn't wait to get back to tell everyone - if only she could work out which way to go...

Lost - in the lost land of odd lost socks (or lost odd socks - whatever...). Have to admit, I got completely lost in doing this illo - it was sooo much fun!
PS. Hope she find the land of lost black pens next... all mine are there! x

    1. SO glad you found us again! The new IF site is a bit tricky and not as blog visit friendly. Also I finally started doing extreme landscape formats and now they look minute on the new site - argh. Oh well, thanks for your comment and for following... x

  2. OH my gosh, this is my favorite one! Reminds me a bit of Wall-E when they first pull back to reveal the city and all the enormous stacks of trash. And socks! Hilarious! Love the sky and birds too!

    1. Seriously, I really did get lost in this one... it was soooo much fun! Funny story re the ducks... I started drawing on a scrap piece of paper which I had previously drawn a flying duck on so the duck multiplied and becoame part of the scene - worked in really well like it was meant to be! Love it when that happens. Thanks so much for your comment and for being such a great supporter of Phoebe. x

  3. Great scene! Love the little sock-flags!! And the mist is a nice touch! I really hope those socks are clean ones, missing from the dryer, or that place may just smell as bad as a trash dump!!! :)

    1. Ha Ha - the sock flags are actually 'wind socks' like at the airport only using real socks. I'm guessing its a mix of clean and smelly socks - ew - never even thougt of that. Poor Phoebe...
