Illustration Friday: Silent

Yep - I know! Its a bit freaky BUT feeling a bit freaked out and overwhelmed this week (work is busy, chicken turned out to be a rooster, blah, blah, blah...) and I think this has oozed out into this week's Illustration Friday illo which started out OK - silent, speechless mime artist in sepia silent movie ish style - but then i started on the hair and it all went crazy from there. The orange took over as per usual. So even though the mime artist isn't making any noise, the surrounding atmosphere is (and especially his hair...). Its sort of a visual of noise instead.

Silent Mime (overwhelmed and freaked out...)

  2. Great character! I can imagine this guy rapping on the glass of my computer and asking to be let out. Except he's not actually rapping, he's miming it. It's definitely some crazy hair, and good for him! He will definitely stand out at the mime convention. I love his pointed little foot.

I totally laughed at: "work is busy, chicken turned out to be a rooster, blah, blah, blah" as if these were two equal problems that many people have. Which may be true for a lot of people, but the chicken thing is not one I've encountered. ;)

  5. I think I'm going to adopt "chicken turned out to be a rooster" as my go-to phrase for when a should-be-silent week turns into a wild-haired mime of mayhem!

  6. Yep you can only imagine the mayhem involved in a should-be chicken starting to crow... unfortunately her (his) name is Christmas Pudding - can't be a good omen with Christmas coming up...
