Illustration Friday - Carry
Phoebe was tired. Her head hurt and she felt a bit unbalanced. It felt like she was carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders and she couldn't carry on.
Actually, it was probably about time she had a good hair cut...

Carry - originally sketched by hand, then redrawn in Illustrator. Phoebe and the world were coloured in Illustrator. The background and special effects were created using Photoshop. Love a collage... |
Ha! There ARE days like this. But no haircut please - then she'll have to worry about clothes. Tx for dropping by, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Maybe just a trim - hair gets sooo heavy...
DeleteAww! Poor Phoebe! She's so melodramtic! But its true that we all have days like that! The trick is to keep them to a minimum! And I agree - please, no haircuts! Or this blog might need a mature rating! ;)
ReplyDeleteThats right! Just a bad hair day? Thanks for your ever wonderful comments Mit. x
Deletegreat illustration and style :D see ya around
ReplyDeleteThanks Daslav!
DeleteI think her hair may be what keeps her going! I love that you thought to have her carry the weight of the world--such a classic, but with your fun Phoebe twist! :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, she's sort of a female Samson isn't she? That's it - she can never cut her hair!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your enlightening comment Elizabeth... x
Imagine all the tangles poor Phoebe has to contend with on a windy day!! Or is her hair magically snarl-free? It does always seem to have that perfect wavel...& never a hint of split ends!
ReplyDeleteI used to be able to sit on my hair-- now I wear it super-short & I swear it saves hours! It really was almost like having the weight of the world lifted... but I sometimes dream that it has grown back overnight, & it's like seeing an old friend.
Phoebe's hair is almost an entitiy of its own - it is able to position itself perfectly on any occassion - especially anything that involves Phoebe's modesty! I used to have long hair when I was girl too and I remember it getting so heavy, especially if i tried to wear it in a high ponytail all day. It can definitely give you a headache... thanks for your wonderful comment. x
ReplyDeleteI'm with the no-haircut people. However, she could tie it up in a scarf is she could just find a robe! I love the twinkling stars!
ReplyDeleteYeah she's all about the hair isn't she? A robe... hmmmm
DeleteHa ha love the illustration. It's amazing how much lighter I feel after getting a hair cut today, but then, I don't have to display myself in beautiful illustrations all day. I think she needs to keep the hair and leave the world where it was, maybe?
